It was somewhat of a surreal experience to play the Horn quartet from the third act of #Wagner's "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" with Tenor Klaus Florian Vogt, immediately after performing the 6 hour opera with Vogt as "Walther von Stolzig", which is one of the main roles of the opera.

𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝟰 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟵𝟮𝟵 – 𝟮𝟭 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 We mourn the death of our beloved honorary conductor, Bernard Haitink and send our deepest condolences to his wife Patricia and his family. Bernard Haitink was chief conductor of the Concertgebouworkest from 1961 to 1988. In 1999 he was named honorary conductor, after which he returned to the orchestra many times. In January 2019 he conducted what has turned out to be his last concerts with the Concertgebouworkest.
